REFUGEE CRISIS

Project Type: Feature

Current Stage: Development

Current Status: OPEN for Donations

SEPARATION is a narrative feature film created to raise awareness of the refugee crisis and its connection to human trafficking.

WHY THIS FILM?

SEPARATION is a narrative feature film focused on fostering compassion for victims of the Syrian Refugee Crisis while providing insight into the often overlooked, global problem of human trafficking among refugees. Inspired by current events, SEPARATION examines the Syrian Civil War’s impact on families—especially children and women. Rather than merely an exploration of well-covered issues like displacement, persecution or resettlement, the film also offers an unflinching look at the men, women, and trafficking organizations that prey on refugees and profit from the war.

Set against the dramatic and beautiful backdrop of Syria and Eastern Europe, SEPARATION is the story of one family’s tenacity and love in the face of horror and explores how hope can be found in the disastrous as long as human compassion is valued and protected.

SEPARATION is currently in development with writer-producer Lucy Shuttleworth attached to write the screenplay.
